It was the Johnson's 18th Anniversary and they asked me to watch the kids over the weekend while they went to the coast.... we did lots of stuff together. Made cookies, made a huge mess out of playdough and 'moonsand', made a picnic lunch and went to the park to eat the picnic and to play, took Preston to the guitar center a couple of times, played some pool and some video games, went to Jamba juice and watched some movies... lots to pack into a couple of days, eh?
Hannah and Katie, Colton, Preston and Haylee and toughy the dog
Picnic-ing it up... Scrubbs came too.

Preston and Katie x I love Katie, She was so much fun to be around this weekend
She is so hilarious and so loving x I am so glad she took to me so well x

Sunday was the Eugene Marathon/Half Marathon. Boisie and Kathryn did the half and Scrubbies did the amazing whole marathon!

Both sisters accomplished their goals for their times and did great. I, as usual, could not keep myself from crying (as they crossed the finish line) like a baby with pride in them for their determination and endurance and Michael, oh so wonderfully, found us cowbell apps on our iPhones
how funny is that??
xx LOVE YOU GUYS xx and am soooo proud of you
and in all of this I had time to do an estimate, write and turn in a letter of res, and make up a new game with the dogs that is quite possibly one of the best games I have ever come up with...of course Sailor was a co-creator of said game
and, because I am just THAT sad... i am going to tell you about the game.... Gussy and Boat and I play fetch a lot with a ball in the back garden... especially on a sunny Sunday. Gus LOVES it but Boat isnt as fast as Gus so she never quite 'gets into it'. So today I figured out that she likes it better when you bounce the ball of the ground so it goes really high and then she likes to jump in the air and try and catch it after the bounce... so this is how it began.... and here are the rules...
So... the pitcher (me) bounces the ball off the ground. 1 of the dogs must catch ball after 1 bounce and can not drop it in order to gain a point. If one of them does not catch the ball after the first bounce, I, the pitcher, run as fast as i can round the circumference of the garden while dogs must retrieve the ball and try to tag me with it... If the pitcher makes it back to 'home-base' w/o being tagged... 1 point to pitcher. If the dog touches me (pitcher) with ball in mouth before I return to the starting point then no points are awarded. It is great fun and can be played for hours... much like cricket. Dogs LOVED IT !!! and I swear Sailor helped me come up with it... she is great at helping me make up games but BAAAD at helping me come up with names for it... "dog-ball" and "base-dog" are pretty dumb. Let me know if you guys can think if a good name for such a totally rad game
if you come up with a name we like.. 200 points awarded to you
xx
